Vedmurti Taponishth "Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya initiated the movement of VICHAR KRANTI (Thought Revolution) with the very first issue of Akhand Jyoti in 1940's. By 1960, he had compiled and translated the 4 Vedas, 108 Upanishads, 6 Darshanas, 18 Puranas, Yoga Vasishtha and various Aranyakas and Brahmanas with lucid commentaries to enable the masses to understand the knowledge contained in them. The translation was, aimed at eliminating misconceptions, superstitions & blind customs, which were propagated in the medieval era by misinterpretations of the Vedas and other scriptures. During his life, PP Gurudev has written 3200 books on all aspects of life. This contribution to the world of knowledge and human culture was highly acclaimed and appreciated by scholars like Dr S. Radhakrishnan, Acharya Vinoba Bhave. Rev. Pt. Sriram Sharma is a Rishi of the present age whose heart pulsated with compassion for all beings.
The title " Vedmurti" was conferred upon Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya and a POSTAGE STAMP issued by the Govt Of India on Jun 27, 1991 to honor his immeasurable contributions (lectures and writings) in the field of Vedic Spirituality.
India Post issued a Commemorative Postage stamp on June 20, 2021, to celebrate Gayatri Tirth, Shantikunj, Haridwar's Golden Jubilee (1971 to 2021), contributing to the social and spiritual upliftment of millions in India and abroad.
